Static and trailing thresholds
A static maximum-loss threshold remains referenced to the contractual starting level. A trailing threshold can move after new highs. Whether that high is measured at a day close or at each intraday moment changes the required observation frequency.
What closed trades cannot tell you
An account can experience a large unrealized loss and recover before the trade closes. A closed-trade CSV omits that path. A credible tool should return insufficient data for an intraday rule rather than manufacture a clean pass.
Version the rulebook
Keep the source URL, checked date, applicable product and phase, account currency, timezone and exact threshold comparison. Boundary tests should cover equality, daylight-saving transitions, deposits, withdrawals and resets. Never blend two products from one firm into one generic rule.
