Product scope
Program reviewed: the Stellar 2-Step Challenge, a CFD-style evaluation. FundedNext also sells 1-Step, Instant and Lite accounts and special challenges listed on the same site, and their rules differ. Verified facts are as of 2026-10-28.
Official rules, summarized
The firm's article states an 8% profit target in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2, both measured on the initial balance. Both phases carry a 5% daily loss limit, a 10% maximum loss limit and at least five trading days. There is no time limit. The maximum loss rule says the balance or equity must not fall below 90% of the initial balance at any point. The daily limit says the account must not lose more than 5% of the initial balance in a single trading day. Both are measured against the starting balance, not against a trailing high.
Minimum days and the Quick Strike rule
You must place at least one trade on five separate calendar days in each phase. Reaching the target early does not help, because you cannot move on until the day count is met. A No Minimum Trading Days add-on exists for the 6,000, 15,000 and 25,000 sizes only. FundedNext also defines a Quick Strike measure. A Quick Strike trade is a position closed within 30 seconds of opening, and the share of total profit that comes from such trades must stay below 30%. This matters for scalping styles that rely on very short holds.
Rules on the funded account
The funded account keeps the 5% daily and 10% maximum loss limits but drops the profit target and the minimum days. Copy trading, IP, EA and prohibited-strategy rules continue to apply. There are three further constraints. A risk rule limits the potential loss on open trades to 3% of the initial balance at any time, based on stop-loss placement and floating losses. News trading is restricted: trades placed within five minutes before or after a high-impact event on a correlated pair count for only 40% of their profit, while losses remain fully yours. Expert advisors are not permitted on account sizes of 50,000 and above.
Payout structure
The payout path is chosen at checkout and cannot be changed afterward. The standard 21-day option pays 80% of account growth, the 3 profitable days option pays 60%, and the on-demand option pays 90%, with the conditions shown in the second table. A lifetime 95% add-on overrides the share at every stage. The article also describes a 15% reward on the challenge profit targets that is tied to scale-up eligibility for accounts bought on or after 2026-01-12, and states that it is not available to US traders. The challenge fee is refunded as a refundable fee with the first reward. Methods include stablecoins, bank transfer and card payout, with settlement within 24 hours of approval and gateway charges paid by the trader.
Pricing and add-ons
Approximate listed prices run from 59.99 dollars for the 6,000 size to 999.99 dollars for the 200,000 size, with 299.99 for the 50,000 size and 549.99 for the 100,000 size. The article says prices vary with promotions and add-ons. Add-ons include swap-free, the 95% share, no minimum days, a 150% reward, a bi-weekly reward, EA and VPS options, and a double up. Each add-on changes comparability, so compare firms with the same add-ons or none.
Advantages
The firm offers several payout cycles and publishes the conditions for each in one article. The loss limits are fixed against the initial balance, which makes them simple to model, and there is no time limit on either phase. The article also documents reset, merge and scale-up rules.
Limitations and risks
The payout path you pick at checkout sets both the reward share and the timing, so a headline 90% can come with conditions that fit few strategies. The news-trading profit split can reduce counted profit without a breach. The 3% risk rule and the Quick Strike measure add constraints that do not exist on every competitor. EA use depends on account size, and KYC must be approved within 30 days of passing or the account can be deactivated.
Testing a strategy against these limits
Replay your trades with intraday equity marks. Check that no day loses more than 5% of the initial balance, that equity never drops below 90%, and that open trades never risk more than 3% at one time. Then measure how much profit comes from trades closed within 30 seconds and from the five minutes around major news. The drawdown tool helps with the arithmetic, and the prop firm comparison hub shows how these limits compare with other firms.
Who might consider it?
A trader with a documented CFD record that stays inside a fixed 5% daily and 10% total loss, trades on at least five days, and does not depend on scalps shorter than 30 seconds or on news events. The fee should be treated as expendable, not as an investment with a promised return.
Red flags to check before paying
Which payout option fits your trading rhythm, given that it cannot be changed later? Does your strategy trade near high-impact news? Is the account size you want one where EAs are blocked? Does the add-on price change the cost comparison? Is your country eligible, and can you finish KYC within 30 days? Is the headline share reduced by the path you chose?
Important exception
Verify country, EA and news policies separately, and do not compare the headline share without the payout-path context.
Bottom line
Do not choose from account size or the advertised split alone. Compare the effective risk budget, reset cost, rule complexity and reachable payouts under your own trading distribution. For FundedNext the choice of payout path matters as much as the challenge rules.
How this was sourced
Rules, payout options and restrictions were read from FundedNext's Stellar 2-Step Challenge article in a browser on 2026-10-28, and QuantProp drew its own diagram from those figures. QuantProp did not open an account or test a payout, and the article itself notes that terms depend on purchase date.

Frequently asked questions
What are the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step profit targets?
Phase 1 requires 8% and Phase 2 requires 5% of the initial balance. The article states there is no time limit, but you must trade on at least five separate calendar days in each phase.
What is the FundedNext daily loss limit?
5% of the initial balance in a single trading day, in both phases and on the funded account. The maximum loss limit is 10%, and the balance or equity must not drop below 90% of the initial balance.
What profit split does FundedNext pay?
It depends on the option chosen at checkout: 80% for the 21-day cycle, 60% for the 3 profitable days option and 90% for on-demand. A lifetime 95% add-on overrides these, and the choice cannot be changed later.
Does FundedNext allow news trading?
Trades placed within five minutes before or after a high-impact news event on a correlated pair count for only 40% of their profit toward the account, while losses remain fully the trader's responsibility.
Can I use expert advisors at FundedNext?
On account sizes below 50,000, EAs and custom indicators are allowed if their settings fit the account. EA use is not permitted on sizes of 50,000 and above, and the EA add-ons are disabled there.
