This The5ers review covers the High Stakes two-step evaluation as described in two FAQ articles from the firm, read on 2026-10-28. It focuses on the drawdown rule, which resets each day from the higher of the previous closing balance or equity, and on the payout caps, news-order limit and inactivity expiry.

Product scope

Program reviewed: the High Stakes two-step evaluation. The5ers sells other programs, including a futures line shown in the site header, and their rules differ, so do not apply the numbers below to them. Verified facts are as of 2026-10-28, and the firm's own articles carry a last-update date of 2026-09-15.

Official rules, summarized

The firm describes High Stakes as a two-step evaluation with unlimited time to complete and get funded. The account has two loss limits. The maximum loss is 10% of the initial balance, measured as an absolute drawdown. The daily loss is 5%, taken from the previous day's closing equity or balance, whichever is higher, at 00:00 server time. Reaching either limit terminates the account. The pages read for this review did not list the profit targets, so none are stated here. Check the current target for your account size on the firm's program page before buying.

How the daily loss reference works

The reference point is the higher of closing equity and closing balance from the previous day. This is stricter than a limit anchored to the initial balance, because a profitable day lifts the next day's starting level. The firm's example uses a 100,000 account with equity of 110,000 at 23:59 server time. After the rollover, the daily maximum loss is 5,500, so the account closes if equity falls below 104,500. The second example covers a trade carried over from the previous day. If the balance is 105,000 and a floating trade shows a 1,000 loss, equity is 104,000, but the snapshot is taken from the higher 105,000 balance. The practical effect is that open positions held overnight can lower the room you start the next day with, and that a winning day gives you a higher floor but also a higher level to protect.

Maximum loss and unlimited time

The 10% maximum loss is absolute and anchored to the initial balance, so on a 100,000 account the floor is 90,000 and does not trail upward. Combined with unlimited time, this lets a patient strategy take small steps without a deadline. The trade-off is the inactivity rule, which expires accounts left idle for 30 consecutive days in evaluation, counted from the registration day, and 60 consecutive days when funded. Plan the first weeks around how often you will actually have a valid setup, because a quiet market can use up the inactivity window before the evaluation ends.

Payout structure

After qualifying, the firm says a funded account lets you withdraw from the dashboard every 14 days, by crypto or RISE. The payout caps depend on account size. A 50,000 account has a cap of 3,000 dollars and a minimum profit of 300 dollars for a payout. A 100,000 account has a cap of 4,000 and a minimum of 500. The pages read did not state the reward split, so it is not given here.

The news-order restriction

Holding open trades through news is allowed on all programs. Executing orders from two minutes before to two minutes after high-impact news is not. The firm follows Forex Factory for the events and the server time for the clock. Profits made in that window are deducted from the account and do not count toward the target, while losses stay with you. A strategy that enters or modifies orders around scheduled releases needs a filter, because a winning news trade can erase progress without a rule breach.

Advantages

Unlimited time removes deadline pressure. The loss rules are explained with worked examples, so they can be rebuilt in a spreadsheet. Holding trades over news is allowed, and the firm states the withdrawal interval and the caps in plain terms. The two loss limits are stated together in one short article, which makes a pre-purchase check quick.

Limitations and risks

The daily limit resets from the higher of balance or equity, which can be hard to track by hand and punishes overnight floating losses. News-order restrictions and inactivity expiry are material. Payout caps are modest relative to account size, and the pages read do not state the split. Terms can change by program version, so keep a dated copy.

Testing a strategy against these limits

Rebuild the daily floor from your own history. For each day, take the higher of closing balance and closing equity, subtract five percent of that level, and check that intraday equity stayed above it the next day. Check that equity never fell below 90% of the start. Then list every entry or modification within two minutes of high-impact news. The drawdown tool helps with the arithmetic, and the prop firm comparison hub shows how this compares with other firms.

Who might consider it?

A trader with a documented record of controlled intraday and overnight drawdown, who does not place orders around scheduled news and who can trade regularly enough to avoid the inactivity expiry. The fee should be treated as expendable, not as an investment with a promised return.

Red flags to check before paying

Which profit target applies to your size and step? Does your strategy place orders within two minutes of news? Is the reward split stated for your exact program and date? Do the payout caps and minimum profit fit the income you expect? Will you trade often enough to avoid the 30 and 60 day inactivity limits? Is your country eligible?

Important exception

High-impact news executions within two minutes before or after an event are restricted, and the profit from them is removed. Check the product rules for the exact program you will buy.

Bottom line

Do not choose from account size or the advertised split alone. Compare the effective risk budget, reset cost, rule complexity and reachable payouts under your own trading distribution. For The5ers, the deciding questions are how your overnight floating losses interact with the higher-of-balance-or-equity daily reference and whether you avoid news-window orders.

How this was sourced

Rules were read from two The5ers FAQ articles in a browser on 2026-10-28, and QuantProp drew its own diagram from those figures. Eligibility details come from the pack of 2026-10-27 and were not re-read. QuantProp did not open an account or test a payout.

Revision log

2026-10-28: imported from the editorial pack dated 2026-10-27; approved for publication by the owner. 2026-10-28: Expanded after reading two The5ers FAQ articles (both last updated 2026-09-15 by the firm) in a browser on 2026-10-28. Added the captured drawdown-rule panel, a rules table, the firm's own worked example, payout caps and minimums, inactivity limits, the news-order rule and Q&A. The pack's 10% and 5% limits were confirmed; profit targets were not on the pages read and are not stated. Corrected the testing section: the daily 5% is taken from the previous close level, matching the firm's own 110,000 example. Replaced the captured screenshot with an original QuantProp diagram because the right to publish the firm's image was not confirmed.
