This Alpha Capital Group review covers the Alpha Pro 2-step evaluation as described in the firm's own help-center article, read on 2026-10-28. It compares the Pro8 and Pro10 plans, explains the lot-exposure rule that can forfeit earned fees, and states plainly that payout terms were not verified.

Product scope

Program reviewed: the Alpha Pro 2-step evaluation, in its Pro8 and Pro10 versions. The firm sells four other plans named Swing, One, Three and Direct, which are not covered here. The firm's help center also describes a Qualified Analyst Account stage after the evaluation. Verified facts are as of 2026-10-28.

Official rules, summarized

The article calls Alpha Pro the firm's standard 2-step evaluation. The Pro8 plan asks for 8% in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2, with an 8% static maximum drawdown and a 4% daily drawdown. The Pro10 plan asks for 10% and 5%, with a 10% static maximum drawdown and a 5% daily drawdown. Both need at least three trading days in each phase. The daily drawdown is described as balance-based. That is a different measurement from an equity-based daily floor, because open losses may not count until they are closed. Read the firm's dedicated daily drawdown article before relying on that detail.

Pro8 versus Pro10

The two plans are not interchangeable. Pro8 has a lower profit target but also a smaller loss budget: 8% maximum drawdown and 4% daily against 10% and 5%. A strategy with a 6% historical drawdown fits Pro10 and not Pro8, even though Pro8 asks for less profit. A useful comparison is the ratio of target to loss budget. Pro8 asks for 8% against an 8% budget, which is 1 to 1. Pro10 asks for 10% against a 10% budget, also 1 to 1, but the larger absolute room suits strategies with wider swings. Choose by drawdown, not by the smaller target.

Leverage and lot exposure

Leverage is stated as up to 1:100 on FX, 1:30 on metals, 1:20 on indices and 1:10 on oil. The maximum lot exposure scales with account size, from 2.5 lots on 5K to 40 lots on 100K and 120 lots on 300K, and depends on leverage and available margin. The firm applies a strict procedure at the withdrawal review. On the first violation, the performance fee earned through oversized lots is not eligible for withdrawal. On the second, the performance fee is forfeited and the Qualified Analyst Account is deactivated. Violations are counted per position, not per trade idea, so an 11-lot trade followed by a 1-lot trade while the first is open can count as two breaches on a 10-lot limit.

News trading and weekend holds

News trading is allowed with a five-minute window on both sides of the event. You may not open a new trade, or close an existing one, on the targeted instrument from five minutes before until five minutes after the announcement. Note that closing is also blocked, which affects stop management. Holding trades over the weekend is allowed in Phase 1 and Phase 2 but not in the Qualified Analyst Account. A strategy that holds positions over weekends has to change behavior after qualifying.

Payout structure

The page read for this review does not state the payout share or the withdrawal timing, so they are deliberately not given here. The only payout-related terms confirmed are the lot-exposure consequences at the withdrawal review. Ask the firm for the written payout terms for the exact plan and date before buying, and do not compare this firm's reward with others until those terms are verified.

Maximum allocation

The maximum allocation is 400,000 dollars, shared across all five plans: Pro, Swing, One, Three and Direct. Holding accounts on several plans uses up the same cap, which matters for traders who plan to scale by buying more than one evaluation. Check how the cap is counted when an account is reset or closed, because the article does not say.

Advantages

Two risk-budget configurations are documented side by side, so a trader can match the plan to their drawdown history. The static maximum drawdown does not trail, which keeps modeling simple. Weekend holds are allowed during the evaluation, and the lot-exposure rule is published with exact limits by size. The article is dated by the firm, which lets you tell how recent the stated terms are.

Limitations and risks

The lot-exposure rule can forfeit earned fees and is judged at the withdrawal stage, which is late. The news window blocks closing as well as opening. The lower Pro8 loss budget should not be treated as equivalent to Pro10, and the payout terms were not available on the page read. Rules can change by plan version, so keep a dated copy.

Testing a strategy against these limits

Replay your trades against the Pro8 and Pro10 limits separately. Check the worst closed-balance day against 4% or 5%, the worst peak-to-trough drawdown against 8% or 10%, and the largest open position against the lot limit for your size. List every trade opened or closed within five minutes of major news. The drawdown tool helps with the arithmetic, and the prop firm comparison hub shows other firms.

Who might consider it?

A CFD trader with a documented record of moderate drawdown who can stay inside the lot limit, avoids news-window orders and does not need weekend holds once qualified. The fee should be treated as expendable, not as an investment with a promised return.

Red flags to check before paying

What is the payout share and timing for your plan, in writing? Does your largest position stay inside the lot limit for your size, counting overlapping trades? Do you close or modify trades near news? Do you need weekend holds after qualifying? Which plan fits your drawdown history? Is your country eligible?

Important exception

This page is not a payout comparison because the payout rules were not verified. Do not rank this firm on rewards until they are.

Bottom line

Do not choose from account size or the advertised split alone. Compare the effective risk budget, reset cost, rule complexity and reachable payouts under your own trading distribution. For Alpha Capital, the plan choice and the lot-exposure rule matter more than the profit target.

How this was sourced

Rules were read from Alpha Capital's Alpha Pro 8%/10% help-center article in a browser on 2026-10-28, and QuantProp drew its own diagram from those figures. The firm dated the article 2026-07-22. QuantProp did not open an account or test a payout.

Revision log

2026-10-28: imported from the editorial pack dated 2026-10-27; approved for publication by the owner. 2026-10-28: Expanded after reading Alpha Capital's Alpha Pro 8%/10% help-center article (dated 2026-07-22 by the firm) in a browser on 2026-10-28. Added the captured rules panel, a Pro8 versus Pro10 table, leverage and lot-exposure limits with the violation procedure, the 5-minute news window and weekend-hold rule, and Q&A. Corrected the pack: the daily drawdown is stated as balance-based. Payout share and timing remain unverified and are stated as such. Replaced the captured screenshot with an original QuantProp diagram because the right to publish the firm's image was not confirmed.
